Tourist information

The Hawaiian islands are tropical islands of volcanic origin located in the Pacific Ocean and represent a state belonging to the United States of America with the capital Honolulu, which means protected area and derives from the name of a village on the island of Oahu.

Other islands to remember are the island of Hawaii, the island of Maui and the island of Kauai which all have airports.

The Hawaiian islands are very distant from the coast of the United States whose closest point is the Californian coast at 4000 kilometers.

The Hawaiian islands are among the most isolated emerged lands in the world, in fact they are almost 4,000 km from the American coast (the closest point is California) and from Tahiti, and over 1,000 km from some islands of the Kiribati group.

The archipelago belongs geographically to the continent of Oceania.

They were occupied by the USA in 1898 and in 1959 they joined the Union as their 50th state.

During the Second World War it was in Pearl Harbor, one of the most important ports of the Hawaiian Islands, that the attack of Japan's air and naval troops took place and this sad event that caused many victims marked the entry into the war of the United States.

The population of Hawaii is originally from French Polynesia.

They are also of great military importance to the United States as the headquarters of the armed forces command in the Pacific Ocean.

In the period following the entry into the federation of the United States of America, the Hawaiian islands have experienced an incessant economic development moving from traditional fishing and agriculture activities to a thriving industry specialized in travel and tourism with the opening of new hotels, restaurants and places for tourists.

What see

These wonderful tropical islands have Honolulu as their capital, which is also the largest city in the archipelago, located on the island of Oahu.

Honolulu extends around the main port of the state, the main attractions to see are the skyscrapers on the sea in Waikiki, the museums and the Waikiki aquarium where you can observe the Hawaiian monk seal.

Among the most beautiful beaches of the Hawaiian islands, Punalu'u deserves to be remembered, originating from the accumulation of lava leaking from the Mauna Loa and Kilauea volcanoes, nicknamed Black Sand Beach for the particular black sand.

For those who prefer a white sand beach, Hapuna Beach, one of the largest, is recommended.

The bay of Pearl Harbor is sadly famous for having been the scene of the Japanese attacks during the Second World War.

For those who prefer to immerse themselves in unspoiled nature, a walk in the rainforest is recommended, an excellent example of tropical jungle.

In Kauai, the smallest but very beautiful island, there is the Na Pali Coast, which is a 35 km long coastal strip with steep cliffs and beautiful beaches with golden sands and an exceptional coral reef.
