Idaho is located in the north-western part of the United States and represents one of the fifty states with the capital Boise, particularly known for the Sun Valley ski area, extended between the Bald and Dollar mountains, home to important alpine skiing competitions.

To the north it borders the Canadian province of British Columbia, to the west with the states of Washington and Oregon, to the southwest with Nevada, to the southeast with Utah and to the east with Montana to the north and Wyoming to the south.


Inside there is a part of the Rocky Mountains, which occupies the territory almost completely, thus characterizing the landscape.

The highest peak is Borah Peak in the Lost River Mountains north of Mackay.

The climate is continental with cold winters and not too hot summers. As for the highly developed economy, agriculture produces a large part of potatoes of US origin.


The industry in the food, mechanical, chemical, paper and electronic sectors has developed. In addition there are silver mining resources and timber production, the tourism industry is also highly developed.

The three malt plants belonging to Anhauser-Busch that supply breweries across the nation are also famous.

Boise is a semiconductor manufacturing center and home to the DRAM chip maker Micron Technology Inc, a Hewlett-Packard manufacturing facility for the manufacture of laser printers.


The Coldwater Creek fashion house specializing in women's clothing is located in Sandpoint.

The capital Boise, seat of the government, is the largest cultural and commercial center of this state.
