Blessed Rosa of Viterbo
Born in Viterbo on 9 July 1233 and died in the same city on 6 March 1251, Rosa is venerated as a saint by the Catholic church.
On the orders of Our Lady, at the age of ten he wore the habit of the Franciscan Third Order and began his mission to defeat the ideas carried out by the heretic Emperor Frederick II, preaching and performing miracles.
He preached in particular against the Cathars, who were instigated by Frederick II against the Pope, and took a clear position in favor of the pontiff in the struggle between the Guelphs and the Ghibellines.
When she was fifteen, since she was able to attract and convert many people, she was considered a dangerous element and for this reason she was removed from the city.
At sixteen he wanted to enter the convent to spend the rest of his life devoted to prayer, but the Poor Clare nuns of Santa Maria delle Rose rejected his request because of his precarious health.
So it was that he continued in his apostolate for another two years, until his death in 1253 when he was eighteen.
