Psalm 128: complete, commentary

post-title

CommentPsalm 128 refers to the true joy given by God to all those who fear him, walking along his ways. The fear of God leads to the wisdom that consists in learning to know the word of God by applying it to one's own existence by joyfully walking the paths, even tortuous ones, that he has prepared for us.

Complete Psalm 128

[1] Song of the Ascensions. Blessed is the man who fears the Lord and walks in his ways.

[2] You will live by the work of your hands, you will be happy and you will enjoy every good.

[3] Your bride as a fruitful vine in the intimacy of your home; your children like olive shoots around your canteen.

[4] Thus will the man who fears the Lord be blessed.

[5] Bless you the Lord from Zion! May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem for all the days of your life.

[6] May you see the children of your children. Peace on Israel!
