Meaning of reconditioned
It is a term used in reference to products subjected to a repair and maintenance process, a procedure that can concern both the pure revision from the external point of view, and the correct restoration of all the functions that fall within its main characteristics, with the intention to bring it back to its initial conditions.
Products offered to the public as reconditioned can never be sold as if they were new, even if in practice, in many cases they are to be defined as new, as they are returned by the customer who has simply made use of the right to rethink, for example if it has changed its opinion on the desired color, or because they are used by the retailer as display items.
It often happens that they are marked as reconditioned products that are actually new, to proceed with their sale more quickly and thereby justify the discounted price.
In the event that the object has been used, it is thoroughly checked in advance about its correct functioning, then maintenance is performed, if necessary, and external cleaning, before making it available for sale with the label that declares it reconditioned.
A used object that has not been reconditioned is to be defined used, a term that declares the absence of any control.
As for the warranty, reconditioned products usually have a shorter duration than the new object, in this case we speak of guaranteed reconditioned.
The reconditioning can be carried out both by the seller and by the manufacturer, a refurbished object generally offers more guarantees than a normal used one.
