How to make tomato basil salad, recipe for an easy and tasty side dish with oregano, typical of Italian cuisine, as long as the tomatoes are firm and ripe, the olive oil is of quality and the basil is fresh.
Ingredients for 4 people
- 5 fresh tomatoes
- a pinch of oregano
- 1 bunch of basil
- 1 clove of garlic
- 5 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- salt and pepper
How to prepare tomato basil salad
Skewer the garlic clove with a fork and rub it in the salad bowl.
Wash, dry and slice the tomatoes, remove the seeds, lightly sprinkle them with salt and arrange them on a slightly inclined cutting board, then leave them to rest for about ten minutes so that they lose the vegetation water.
After putting the tomatoes in the salad bowl and season them with the chopped basil, a pinch of oregano, a little freshly ground pepper and the extra-virgin olive oil.
Cover the salad bowl and put it in the refrigerator for a quarter of an hour before serving the tomatoes on the table.
