Crispy fish fry with squid and prawns


How to make a perfect fried fish with squid and shrimp, from the preparation of the batter to frying in a pan, how to calculate the cooking time, tricks and tips.

Ingredients for 4 people

- 1 egg

- 2 tablespoons of white flour

- half a glass of milk

- 300 g of prawns

- 400 g of squid (bags only)

- abundant oil for frying

- salt

Preparation of fried squid fish and prawns

In a bowl, beat the egg with the flour and a pinch of salt, using a small whisk.

Stir in the milk and mix further until a homogeneous and lump-free batter is obtained, to rest for half an hour.

Remove the head from the prawns and cut the bags of the squid into rings, passing them, a few at a time, in the batter previously prepared, and collecting them using a slotted spoon to dip them in a pan with plenty of hot oil.

During frying, turn the fish over from time to time, to prevent shrimp and squid from sticking together.

As they appear golden, drain the fish using the slotted spoon and pass them on absorbent kitchen paper to eliminate excess grease.

Salt freshly and serve immediately.

Variation: For a lighter frying, pass the fish well dry only in the flour and fry without using the egg batter.
