Tourist information

New England, in English New England, is a region of the United States that, located in the northeastern part of the country, is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and made up of the six states of Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

Boston represents the city with the largest number of inhabitants as well as being a world-renowned economic and cultural center.

The geographical conformation of the territory of New England derives from the retreat of the glaciers after which gentle hills, mountains and a coast rich in bays and inlets remained.

Along the coastline between southwestern Connecticut and Maine, there are several lakes, hills and sandy type beaches mostly concentrated on Cape Cod.

Distance from the coast, the altitude increases until it reaches the mountainous systems belonging to the Appalachians which occupy part of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

The highest peak is Mount Washington, located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, which reaches almost 2000 meters.

The largest river is Connecticut which, 655 km long, runs from New Hampshire to Long Island Sound.

The lake with the largest surface is the Champlain, after which in order of size we have the Moosehead, the Winnipesaukee, the Quabbin Reservoir and the Candlewood).

The climate is continental with significant rainfall at all times of the year and famous for having a large degree of unpredictability.

The climate of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont in the northern part suffers the influence of the Labrador cold current and for this reason it is characterized by short and not very hot summers with cold winters.
