Tourist information

The state of New York is one of the fifty states into which the United States of America is divided.

Contrary to popular belief, the capital of this state is not New York City, which is the city with the largest number of inhabitants, but Albany.


It is located in the northeastern part of the United States, bordering Canada, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

To the north are the Catskill and Adirondack mountains, the Finger Lakes and the Champlain, George, and Oneida lakes.

As for the river component, the most important rivers are Delaware, Genesee, Hudson, Mohawk and Susquehanna. The highest mountain peak is Mount Marcy.


Regarding the economy of this state, it should be noted that the dairy, cattle, vegetables and fruit breeding sectors have developed among the agricultural sectors.

Among the industrial sectors, publishing, the production of scientific instruments, electrical equipment, machinery and chemicals stands out.

What see

The city of New York is the main financial center of the United States, where Wall Street is located, or the Stock Exchange located in Manhattan.


In the southern part of the state are the suburbs of New York and the Hudson River valley, which are the central core of Megalopolis, or the union of metropolitan areas between the northern suburbs of Boston and the southern suburbs of Washington.

Megalopolis is made up of populous urban areas near the coast, which are distinguished above all by the tertiary sector, commercial areas, financial centers, educational structures, publishing houses and government offices.

Manhattan, Staten Island and Long Island are districts located on islands.

In the state of New York there is the State University of New York System while in the homonymous city there is the City University of New York.
