Located in the province of Siena, which is 28 km away, Rapolano Terme is a spa town, located on the right side of the upper valley of the Ombrone river.
Most of the walls, towers and gates are preserved in the historic center, including the remarkable Porta dei Tintori, dating back to 1200.
Near the railway station is the Pieve di San Vittore, built in Romanesque style.
As for the sulphurous waters used in the spas, these come out at temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius.
What see
The oldest establishment consists of the Terme di San Giovanni, which are located two kilometers from the town.
The Terme Antica Querciolaia are located about a kilometer away, as well as the cold baths of Armaiolo and the San Giacomo a Pelacane plant.
The spring waters are useful for curing arthritis, uricemia, diseases of the skin and intestines.
