Saints Cosma and Damiano
According to legend, Cosma and Damiano were two brothers who provided their medical care free of charge in favor of the poor and the underprivileged.
At the beginning of the 300 they were condemned to martyrdom by Diocletian, but the stones that were to stone them bounced back, the arrows that were to pass through them turned against the archers and only with the sword did they manage to cut their heads, thus operating the martyrdom.
They were buried far from each other because Damiano was offended that Cosma had been rewarded by a woman for medical treatment.
But it was miraculously clarified that Cosma had done it only in order not to cause offense to the one who, having been treated, wanted to reward him, in this way the two brothers, who had been united in life, were also close in death.
