The Saint of the day 6 September is San Zaccaria, which name day is celebrated and other saints who are celebrated on this date.
San Zaccaria
Zacharias, author of the homonymous book of the Bible, is the penultimate of the twelve Minor Prophets, coming after Haggai and preceding Malachi.
Lived in the 6th century BC, after the return of the Jewish people from Babylonian exile, he played a fundamental role in encouraging the reconstruction of the walls of Jerusalem and the Temple.
Zacharias tends to bring out the spiritual character of the rebirth of the people of Israel and its path towards holiness which goes hand in hand with material reconstruction.
This rebirth is undoubtedly derived from the infinite love of God and his omnipotence.
Died late in life, Zechariah was probably buried next to the tomb of the prophet Haggai.
Zechariah is a name derived from the Hebrew language which means "God remembered".
