post-title

What to see in Nevada, where it is found, origin of the name, characteristics of the territory, economy and interesting places of this state of the USA, including Carson City, Las Vegas and the Sierra.

Tourist information

Located in the western part of the United States, Nevada owes its name to the Sierra Nevada, an important mountain range whose name, deriving from Spanish, means snow-covered territory.

Nevada is bordered to the north with Oregon and Idaho, to the west with California, to the south east with Arizona and to the east with Utah.

On the border with Arizona is the Colorado River.

This state is mainly mountainous and arid, with rocky mountains including various snow-capped peaks and desert areas.

The Great Basin desert encompasses the northern and central part of this state, while the Mojave desert affects some areas located to the south.

As for the economy, it is mainly focused on agriculture, hay and potato production, and cattle breeding, from which renowned dairy products derive.

Tourism is also very developed, especially thanks to the city of Las Vegas, internationally famous for the practice of gambling and the rapid celebration of weddings.

Industrial sectors are related to mining, mechanics, publishing, as well as the production of electronic components and ready-to-eat foods.

Nevada is the only US state where home prostitution is legal.

What see

Divided into sixteen counties, it has as its capital Carson City, located south of Lake Washoe and east of Lake Tahoe, not far from the California border and known for having been in the past an important center linked to the extraction of silver, an activity to which a museum has been dedicated.
