Psalm 101: complete, commentary

post-title

CommentIn the text of Psalm 101 the psalmist asks the Lord when he will come to him to help him, meaning by this a great desire to meet with the Messiah. He intends to turn to God in pure words to be able to walk humbly in his home away from evil people.

Psalm 101 complete

[1] Of David. Psalm. Love and justice I want to sing, I want to sing hymns to you, O Lord.

[2] I will act wisely on the path of innocence: when will you come to me? I will walk with a whole heart inside my house.

[3] I will not endure evil deeds before my eyes; I hate those who do evil, they will not be close to me.

[4] Far from me the perverse heart, the wicked I do not want to know.

[5] Whoever slanders his neighbor in secret will perish him; who has haughty eyes and a superb heart I will not be able to bear it.

[6] My eyes are turned to the faithful of the country so that they remain close to me: whoever walks the whole way will be my servant.

[7] Those who act deceitfully will not live in my house, those who say lies will not be in my presence.

[8] Every morning I will exterminate all the wicked of the land, to extirpate from the city of the Lord those who do evil.
