Psalm 145: complete, commentary

post-title

CommentWhile showing traces of other psalms, Psalm 145 is very beautiful and stimulating for faith, an invitation to hope in divine mercy and to praise God. The psalmist turns to God recognizing him as king and saying that he wants to exalt him forever for the wonders created , he knows that he is a sinner but also that the mercy of God is great for the goodness and love he has for all men.

[11] Speak the glory of your kingdom and speak of your power,

[12] to manifest to men your wonders and the splendid glory of your kingdom.

[13] Your kingdom is the kingdom of all ages, your dominion extends to every generation.

[14] The Lord supports those who falter and raises anyone who has fallen.

[15] The eyes of all are turned to you waiting and you provide them with food in due time.

[16] You open your hand and satisfy the hunger of every living thing.

[17] The Lord is just in all his ways, holy in all his works.

[18] The Lord is close to those who call on him, to those who seek him with a sincere heart.

[19] Satisfy the desire of those who fear him, listen to their cry and save them.

[20] The Lord protects those who love him, but scatters all the wicked.

[21] Let my mouth sing the praise of the Lord and every living thing bless his holy name, forever and ever.
