Homemade method to clean oxidized gold which, despite being a precious metal, like all other metals tends to lose its natural shine over time with the appearance, on its surface, of an opaque patina that diminishes its beauty. Fortunately, there are methods to renew any gold object.
What is needed to clean gold
- 1 pot
- Water
- Detergent for washing dishes
- Denatured alcohol
- Cotton
- Soft cloth
- 1 toothbrush
How to polish gold
Fill the pot with water, dip all the gold objects to be cleaned in and turn on the stove underneath it.
When the water starts to boil, turn off the heat and add a few drops of detergent.
Keep the objects immersed for about half an hour, then empty the pot using a colander and dry the precious items with the cloth.

With a cotton swab dipped in alcohol, pass the gold objects one by one to polish them, using the toothbrush to polish the more worked ones.
