January 13: saint of the day, name day

post-title

The Saint of the 13th January is Saint Hilary of Poitiers, which name day is celebrated and other saints are celebrated on this date.

Saint Hilary of Poitiers

He was born a pagan in the fourth century and spent his youth in search of the truth, which he sought in philosophy, but the answer was only found in the Bible and for this reason he decided to convert to Christianity.

Although he was a married man and had a daughter, shortly after his baptism he was elected bishop of Poitiers.

After six years of episcopal ministry, he was exiled for five years to the east by the ertico emperor Costanzo, a period in which he had the opportunity to deepen the thought of the Eastern Fathers, growing in his mind the fruits that he would later reveal in his main work "De Trinitate ", which earned him the title of Doctor of the Church.

Back in Poitiers, he continued the work of defender of theological orthodoxy with words and deeds, preaching until the date of his death in 300.
